Heaven and Earth: Art of Byzantium from Greek Collections,

The Benaki Museum in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports
is organizing a major exhibition entitled
Heaven and Earth: Art of Byzantium from Greek Collections,
at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
October 6, 2013 to March 2, 2014.

We would like to invite you to the events
that will be taking place on the occasion of the opening:

On Sunday, October 6, 2013
at 10:00 a.m.
his Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America
will celebrate the Divine Liturgy
at the Saint Sophia Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
and at 2:00 p.m.
there would be two outstanding lectures open to the public by
Dr. Maria Vlazaki-Andreadaki, Director of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage
and Professor Angelos Delivorrias, Director of the Benaki Museum,
at the East Building Auditorium of the National Gallery of Art.
